Bearden High School
The Bearden High School Science Bowl team won 1st place in this year's competition. The team along with coach Julie Smalling will travel to the national competition in Washington, DC in April. Best of luck! The team from Farragut High School placed 2nd in this competition as well. April Update.
Lam Tran & Farragut High School
Lam Tran was recognized as a semifinalist in the USA Biology Olympiad. His score ranks him in the top 10% of all students in the nation who took the exam. Congratulations to Lam and his teachers!
Beaumont Elementary

Andrew Messing, HVA, Honorable Mention for research on Omnidirectional Track Systems
Amelia Dmowska, Farragut High, 3rd placed for research on The Effects of Low Dose X-ray Radiation on Mouse Macrophage Cells. She also received a $1000 scholarship for her presentation.
Both students recognized will have the opportunity to participate in the National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium.

West Valley Middle
Congratulations to advisor Lisa Foil and the Science Bowl teams from West Valley Middle. They placed 2nd out of 16 teams at the East Tennessee Middle School Science Bowl team coordinated through the American Museum of Science and Energy.
Whittle Springs Middle

South-Doyle Middle Science Olympiad
Congratulations to the South-Doyle Middle Science Olympiad team for placing 2nd in their regional competition. They have qualified to participate in the state competition.
Bearden Middle Science Olympiad
Bearden Middle School students, staff, and parents hosted their first annual Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament. There were six teams competing in science competitions all day long. Congratulations on a job well done!

 Congratulations to Frank Wood (L & N STEM Academy) for winning the Air Force Association Chapter Teacher of the Year. He was recognized for exciting students in the area of STEM education. Lisa Foil (West Valley Middle) was the runner-up.
As of March 30, Frank Wood has been recognized as the Air Force Association Tennessee Teacher of the Year. We are so thrilled for him to receive this well-deserved honor.
Congratulations to Jamie Stapleton from Whittle Springs Middle. She has been recognized by UT Knoxville as the recipient of the Marian Oates Award. She will be able to complete a course of study in environmental science this summer.
Congratulations to Michele Owen and Amy Lyttle from West High School. They are the regional winners for the Shell Science Lab challenge sponsored by NSTA. They have won $3000 for their school. We are awaiting results to see if they are a National winner. Keep updated.....
